How an evening at Stocking Full of Christmas works

Entry is timed. You pick an arrival slot when you buy, and at that time your group of no more than forty-five is met by a journey elf and guided room to room through the Park Hyatt Aviara ballroom in Carlsbad, which has been built out into five themed sets. Every room has live entertainment. Between the rooms are themed hallways where stocking stuffers are handed out.

Nothing about it is self-guided and nothing is a queue. The elf sets the pace, the performers play to your group, and the whole thing runs about an hour to an hour and a half. See the five rooms

The twelve moments, in order

A journey elf welcoming guests

Meet your journey elf

You are welcomed by the elf who will guide your group through the whole evening. This is where you receive the stocking you will carry and fill along the way.

The red and gold grand entry

The red and gold grand entry

The first doors open onto the grand entry, rebuilt for 2026 in red and gold. It sets the tone: this is a set, not a hallway.

The Ice Queen performing in the Frozen Room

The Frozen Room

Bigger this year, with the Ice Queen performing for your group. The confetti moment returns with a twist: this season it snows indoors.

Elves with children in the Toy Shop

Santa’s Toy Shop

Build toys alongside the elves. The Toy Shop has been enhanced for 2026 and is where most of the hands-on time happens.

A themed hallway between rooms

The magical hallways

Between rooms, themed hallways are where the stocking stuffers are handed out. This is the collecting part, and it happens all along the way.

Mrs. Claus in her Confectionery

Mrs. Claus’s Confectionery

A cookie from Mrs. Claus herself. It is the one treat included with every admission.

Santa and an elf in the Secret Living Room

Santa’s Secret Living Room

Brand new for 2026. A room that did not exist last season, added as part of this year’s expansion.

Santa in his sleigh with the reindeer

Santa’s sleigh

Climb into the sleigh for photos and hand over your wish list before you meet the man himself.

Santa with a young guest

Meeting Santa

Time with Santa at the end of the journey, and a moment together before the evening closes.

A family taking their photo with Santa

Photos in every room

Each room is built with a photo moment in mind, and you take your own, including with Santa. No photo package to buy.

Gold confetti falling on a guest

New surprises and effects

New entertainment and character moments, new special effects, and all-new stocking stuffers throughout for 2026.

A family with their filled stockings

Home with a full stocking

You leave with the stocking you filled. For child admission, that is roughly $45 in gifts, treats, and stuffers.

Who this immersive Christmas experience is for

All ages, by design. Children under 18 months are free.

Families with young children

The stocking, the elves, the Toy Shop, and Santa are built for them. Small strollers are welcome, though most families leave them at the front. Details on arrival and accessibility.

A Christmas date night

Adults do not get a stocking automatically, but they can add one for $20, and many of the surprises along the way are aimed at grown-ups. The VIP tier adds a lounge hour before your slot.

Three generations at once

Indoors, climate-controlled, one level, and paced by your elf rather than a crowd. Private groups can take a whole slot of forty-five.

New for 2026

The experience has been significantly refreshed. A bigger Frozen Room where it now snows, an enhanced Toy Shop, Santa’s Secret Living Room, Mrs. Claus’s Confectionery, the red and gold grand entry, new hallways, new entertainment and character moments, new special effects, and all-new stocking stuffers.

Returning guests keep the traditions they came for and get a season’s worth of new things to find.

Before you go

What should we wear?

Festive. Holiday dresses, Christmas sweaters, matching family outfits, and Christmas pajamas all belong here, and pajamas photograph well. Comfortable shoes, since you are on your feet for the journey.

Can we take photos and video?

Yes, and you are encouraged to. There are photo moments in every room and you take your own photos with Santa.

Is food included?

One cookie from Mrs. Claus is part of the experience. Otherwise food is not included, and outside food and drink are not permitted inside. Restaurants on the resort property are open before and after.

Can we bring a stroller?

Yes, though small strollers are strongly encouraged and we ask families to keep them to a minimum, since the journey moves through several rooms and hallways. If it is not essential, leave it at the front. Service animals only.
